First and foremost, plan out where the dumpster is going to be placed on your property. If there is adequate space for both the dumpster and the delivery truck to place and remove the container.
Drivers delivering a 30 or 40 yard dumpster need a 60-foot approach to the delivery spot, along with 23 feet of overhead clearance.
Additionally, a few good questions to ask yourself in order to be well prepared are, “Are there any overhead hazards like, power lines, trees, cables, etc., that could potentially cause an issue when delivering or removing the dumpster?” and “Does the dumpster door have ample space to be opened and accessed, once placed?”.
